A Carbon County woman entered guilty pleasin four drug-related cases.

Joyce L. Card, 38, of Lansford, and formerly of Tamaqua, pleaded one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia before Judge Joseph J. Matika.Lansford police filed the charges in all four cases for incidents in the borough that occurred in late April and May 2016.The possession with intent occurred on May 5 when she sold heroin to a confidential informant working for the police. The three paraphernalia cases stem from incidents on April 25 and May 22 and 27.Card admitted to a heroin addiction problem but told the court she was getting counseling and spent some time in an inpatient program but was not eligible for credit.Matika told her, "You have four cases in a short time, all centered around your drug addiction." He told her she had to get her drug addiction under control or she could end up killing herself.On the possession with intent count Matika sentenced her to time served (233 days) to one day less 24 months in prison. On the three paraphernalia charges she was placed on probation for six months on each, concurrent to each other but consecutive to the first count.She was also ordered to render a total of 100 hours of community service, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendations for treatment, zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use, supply a DNA sample, pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation.
