Tamaqua Police have accused a woman of sending text messages threatening to kill a newborn baby.

Rachelle Lynn Cassidy, 31, no known address, faces charges of making terroristic threats and harrassment.Police said Cassidy sent text messages to another Tamaqua woman threatening her newborn child.In one text message, she allegedly wrote that she would slice the child's throat in front of the whole world and get away with it.Police said that she also yelled the same statement at the victim, and continually 'lurked' around their home on Orwigsburg Street.Cassidy was charged via summons. She is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer on Feb. 21.
