Eighteen first-time defendants in the criminal justice system were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Tuesday by Judge Joseph J. Matika.
If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Bruce A. Breiner, 33, of Nesquehoning, was placed on a charge of driving under the influence. He was arrested on Dec. 14, 2014, along Mermon Avenue by Nesquehoning police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 for the costs of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.Michelle Canzoner, 29, of Levittown, Bucks County, was placed on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on Nesquehoning police by Nov. 3, 2014.She was assessed $450 and ordered to get a D&A evaluation, zero tolerance for D&A use and render 50 hours of community service.Destinie Mariah Dudzinski, 18, of Weatherly, was place on a charge of simple assault. She was arrested on June 23 by Weatherly police for an incident along Third Street.She was assessed $450 and ordered to get a mental health evaluation and follow any recommendations and render 50 hours of community service.James Robert Eismann, 54, of Albrightsville, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on April 23 along Route 1003 by Kidder Township police. He refused a blood test and will lose his license for a year for the refusal.He was assessed $600 with zero tolerance imposed for drug and alcohol use, render 50 hours of community service, and his license suspended for 60 days.James Robert Fenimore, 54, of Weissport, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Dec. 27, 2014, along Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East by Mahoning Township police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.Vanya Katherine Graul, 43, of Phoenixville, Chester County, was placed on a charge of theft. She was charged by Lansford police on June 3 for an incident involving the theft of copper and metal plumbing supplies.She was assessed $450 and ordered to make restitution of $1,149.38, render 50 hours of community service and have no contact with the victim.Alycia M. Hertzke, 20, of Slatington, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Sept. 4, 2014, along Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East by Mahoning Township police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.She was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license was suspended for 90 days.John David Konopczyk, 50, of Mountain Top, Luzerne County, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on March 15 along Route 209 in Nesquehoning by state police at Lehighton. A test showed 0.08 BAC.He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.Katherine Ann Miller, 47, of Fairless Hills, Bucks County, was placed on a bad check charge. She was arrested on Oct. 19, 2013, by Lansford police for an incident involving Thomas Peto as the listed victim.She was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and make restitution to the victim for $600.April Lynn Moyer, 31, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a charge of criminal trespass. She was arrested on April 23 by Nesquehoning police for an incident at 127 W. Catawissa St.She was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.Yoe Colon Peguero, 22, of Hazleton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on April 22 along Berwick Street by Beaver Meadows police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.Farlyn Laureano Placencia, 20, of Hazleton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on May 11, 2014, along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 90 days.Corey R. Schlier Jr., 28, of Lansford, was placed on a charge of fleeing or eluding police. He was arrested on March 29 by Lansford police.He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.Christopher Jon Schnell, 18, of Lehighton, was placed on a charge of possession of marijuana. He was arrested on May 22 along Route 443 by Mahoning Township police.He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendations for treatment and render 50 hours of community service.Camille Ann Skripenek, 19, of Tamaqua, was placed on burglary and related counts. She was arrested on Aug. 4 by state police at Hazleton for an incident at 38B E. Market St., Tresckow.She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and have no contact with the victim.Chris G. Smell, 48, of Coaldale, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Dec. 30, 2014, along Patterson Street by Lansford police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 and his license was suspended for 60 days.Mark Danylo Stecyna, 25, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on May 22 along Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East by Mahoning Township police. A test showed 0.11 BAC.He was assessed $500 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 30 days.Moriah J. Turner, 26, of New Ringgold, was placed on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. Turner was arrested on April 29 by Lansford police in the area of Boyer's Market, 500 W. Bertsch St.Turner was assessed $450 and ordered to get a D&A evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
