Seven first-time offenders in the criminal justice system were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program recently by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record will be wiped clean. However, if they failed to complete the program, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Justin Lawrence Beers, 27, of Lehighton, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana.He was arrested on April 10 along Bridge Street in Weissport by state police at Lehighton.He was assessed $450 for the cost of the program and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment.Angel Luis Colon, 53, of Blakeslee, was placed on a driving under the influence charge. He was arrested on April 7 along Old Stage Road in Penn Forest Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test revealed a 0.14 BAC.He was assessed $500 and his license was suspended for 60 days.Daniel Louis Conklin, 27, of Lansford, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on April 1 along Delaware Avenue by Palmerton police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $650 and his license was suspended for 60 days.Travis Thomas Evans, 20, of Wayne, New Jersey, was placed charges of harassment and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Dec. 17, 2015, by Palmerton police for an incidentin the 300 block of Delaware Avenue.He was assessed $650 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and zero tolerance imposed for drug and alcohol use.Alissa Nicole Groegler, 26, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on April 22 by state police at Lehighton along Bridge Street in Weissport. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.She was assessed $600 and her license was suspended for 60 days.Taylor James Fehr, 20, of Bethlehem, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Dec. 9, 2015, by state police at Lehighton along Delaware Avenue in Palmerton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 and his license was suspended for 90 days.Danielle Marie Salasky, 36, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on July 11 along Bridge Street by Lehighton police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.She was assessed $600 and her license was suspended for 60 days.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program. Those charged with DUI must also follow all recommendations of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
