Lehighton Orioles Nest 183 donates to three area fire departments

Emergency response agencies serving the Lehighton area received a financial boost for the second consecutive month courtesy of the Lehighton Orioles Nest 183.

Representatives from Lehighton Fire Department, Mahoning Valley Volunteer Fire Company and Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company were on hand Sunday at the Orioles’ monthly breakfast to each accept checks for $1,000.On hand to accept the checks were Michael Mriss, Lehighton assistant fire chief; Lynn Diehl, Franklin fire chief; and Bryan Pollock, president of the Mahoning Valley Volunteer Firefighters’ Relief Association.Last month, the Orioles donated $3,000 to area police departments and $1,000 to the state police Camp Cadet program.“It’s a great thing we’re able to do to give back to those who protect us,” said Eugene “Peck” Armbruster, of the Lehighton Orioles Nest 183.
