The owners of a business that was burglarized on Feb. 11 is offering a reward for information on the thief.
All American Jeep, on Route 309 near the northern end of Tamaqua, is offering $500 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the man who stole tires from the business. The thief also took several tires from a neighboring business, Lehigh Tires.Thanks to the use of surveillance cameras, at the business and those located at other areas of the borough, police know the lone suspect was driving a silver Toyota pick up truck. He entered the parking lot at All American after 7 p.m. and didn’t leave until minutes before 9 p.m. During the time he was there, he took several rims and tires from various new Dodge pickup trucks and entered a storage shed at Lehigh Tire, where he removed several tires.The pick up truck left the lot, turned left and traveled south on Railroad Street. At the Five Points, the truck turned right, traveling west on Broad Street. The last verifiable image shows the truck turning left on to South Lehigh Street. A similar vehicle was also captured on a home surveillance camera in the South Ward, traveling east on Penn Street at 9:04 p.m.Any tips will be confidential and may be made to police at 570-668-5000 or the victims at 570-223-1993.
