Tamaqua company collects for shelter

A local insurance company continues to serve as a collection site for a local shelter whose mission is to help veterans get back on their feet.

As Veterans Day approaches, McNealis Insurance Agency, Allstate Insurance Company, is collecting food, clothes and hygiene products while serving as a collection site for Paul's House - Major Paul Syverson Veterans Sanctuary, a nonprofit organization in Jonas.Food can consist of cans of tuna or salmon, a six-pack of small cans of fruit, plastic containers of peanut butter, meat-based soup with veggies, cans of Dinty Moore stew, and a six-pack of 12-ounce V8 fruit or vegetable juice.Clothes include socks, underwear, hats, gloves and scarves.Hygiene products include soap/body wash, shampoo, razors, shaving cream, feminine hygiene products, toothbrushes, toothpastes, and floss, combs, deodorant (men and women), foot powder, nail care and hand sanitizer.They will also accept checks made out to the VALOR Clinic Foundation.McNealis Insurance Agency, Allstate Insurance Company, is located at 220 Claremont Ave., Suite 4, Tamaqua, PA 18252, and at 1000 N.
