NEPA offers proposal writing workshop

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance is offering a Proposal Writing Strategies & Tips Workshop from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 28 at Genetti Catering at 1345 N. Church St., Hazle Township.Writing a proposal is similar to, but not exactly the same as, crafting a persuasive essay or producing a report. The workshop will provide guidance and advice to companies seeking to improve their likelihood of award.The workshop will be led by W. Nick Cline, who is the owner, president, corporate executive officer of Hummingbird Solutions LLC in Springfield, Virginia.His company was founded in 2010 to support, train and assist small-business owners with accounting, taxation, capability maturity model integration and information technology.He has worked in the private, public, educational and health care systems after retiring from the United States Army Finance and Accounting Corps."Proposal writing is not difficult, but some people cannot visualize what they are writing, and that is the problem and the cure," Cline said.The workshop topics will be: Laying the Groundwork, Strategy, Putting Pen to Paper, Common Mistakes and Proposal Tips.The registration deadline is Nov. 23. Sign-in will be held from 7:30 to 8 a.m., and the workshop will start promptly at 8.Cost to register is $15 per person or $10 for NEPA members.For more information, contact Frank A.
