Six first-time offenders in the criminal justice system were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Tuesday by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program. All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Michael David Creveling, 19, of Jim Thorpe, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Feb. 28 at Beltzville State Park in Franklin Township by park rangers.He was assessed $450 for the cost of the program and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use.Emmanuel Jervier, 58, of Albrightsville, was placed on a driving under the influence charge. He was arrested on Dec. 9, 2015, along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed 0.09 BAC. He was assessed $450 and his license was suspended for 60 days.Matthew Melvin Reppert, 18, of Lehighton, was placed on a charge of having a weapon on school property. He was arrested on Jan. 13 by Jim Thorpe police at the vocational-technical school at 150 W. 13th St. He had a 3-inch folding knife at the school.He was assessed $450 and must complete work on getting his high school diploma.Patrick Riley Rusden, 19, of Philadelphia, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Jan. 2 along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance. He was assessed $600 and his license was suspended for 90 days.Daniel R. Russo, 24, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Jan. 12, 2015, along First Street by Lehighton police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600, his license was suspended for 60 days, and he must make restitution of the Lehighton Water Authority for damages of $366.Carl Winston Christopher St. Hill,22, of Albrightsville, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Sept. 6, 2015, along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed 0.25 BAC. He was assessed $550 and his license suspended for 60 days.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
