The tradition of five West End Monroe County and two East End Carbon County churches gathering for the midweek Lenten service and preceding simple supper continues tonight at Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Trachsville.Supper is served at 6 p.m., and the community service begins at 7 p.m.Other churches in the West End are offering the following:Zion Lutheran in Brodheadsville has a Lenten supper and Bible study at 6 p.m. with a Lenten worship service at 7:30 p.m.Ladies Golf LeagueMembers of the Indian Mountain Ladies Golf League will host an orientation/dinner meeting tonight for the 2017 season, at Cherry's Restaurant in Kresgeville, beginning at 6 p.m.Ladies of all handicaps are invited to join this friendly, noncompetitive nine-hole league which meets at 3:45 p.m. Thursday afternoons. At today's 7:30 p.m. supervisors meeting at the municipal building in Kunkletown, Timothy Bolden of Gibson Thomas Engineering, PennDOT's consulting engineers, will be present to update plans and to discuss the project, road closure, detours and other related information.Parkinson's DayWorld Parkinson's Day is each April 11. On this day in April, which is Parkinson's Awareness Month, people will be fundraising and hosting awareness events to educate those affected by Parkinson's disease as well as the general public.The Pocono Parkinson's Support Group, founded by a couple who in their later years lived in the West End, now meets monthly at the Loder Center on Analomink Street in East Stroudsburg.This month's meeting is at 2

Sunday school will be held during the 10:30 service. All youth will have an Easter egg hunt directly after Sunday school. A light lunch will be provided.Zion Lutheran in Brodheadsville will have a simple spoken service at 5 p.m. on Saturday and a Passion/Palm Sunday worship service at 8 and 10:30 a.m., including a procession with palms.Bike blessingThe American Legion Riders will have its monthly meeting at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the American Legion Post 927, Route 209 and Fairgrounds Road, Gilbert.At noon the Riders are hosting an annual Blessing of the Bikes on the main parking lot of the Legion Post Home. It is open to all bikes and riders in the area.
