State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks are investigating an armed robbery that took place at 4:27 p.m. Wednesday in Cressona.

Police said a white man, between 6 foot and 6 foot 4 inches, with a thin build and wearing a tan jacket with a hood, blue jeans and a black face mask, entered the Mobil Convenience Store, 200 Pottsville St.

He had a black pistol and demanded money from the cash register.

After being given the cash the man ran from the scene, taking the cash drawer with him. He was last seen walking north through the parking lot toward Main Street.
