The Panther Valley School Board voted on Wednesday night to hire Scott Price as the new head football coach.

Price, a Schuylkill Haven High School and Kutztown University graduate, was hired on a 9-0 vote. His salary was set at $4,100 for the 2017 season.

Price was a lineman at both Haven and Kutztown.

His coaching resume includes serving as the offensive line coach for Schuylkill Haven in 2010 and 2011. He has also been a volunteer member of the Hurricane staff since then, helping film and scout opponents. This will be his first head coaching position.

Price will be taking over for Matt Davis. Davis coached the Panthers for the past three seasons. He resigned following a 2-8 mark this past season and had a 5-25 record during his tenure.

Panther Valley Athletic Director Kristin Black said the school will hold a press conference to formally announce Price's hiring in the near future.
