Spring tea
The Lewistown Valley Garden Club will hold its Spring Tea at 6:30 p.m. April 25. There will be a change of location for this year's tea. It will be held at the United Church of Christ in Barnesville, which is located at the intersection Field and Church Roads.The program will be a presentation on "Essential Oils," provided by Judy Midas.For more information, or directions, call Louise Flexer at 570-467-3400.BloodmobileAn American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be held in Tamaqua on April 26 at the Tamaqua YMCA, 1201 E. www.redcrossblood.org.Rush-Ryan seniorsThe Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior Citizens Inc. met April 11 at the Ryan Township Fire Company with 47 members in attendance. One new member, Rebecca Fegley, and returning member Carolyn Shoobridge were given warm welcomes.President Bill Morrison conducted the business session. The inspirational reading "Our Prayer" was given by the chaplain.Paul Randig was added to the sick list.The meeting included a Valentine's Day celebration, with coffee donated by Anna Mae Yushinsky and treats made by Gloria Gerhart.Upcoming events include: May 4, Branson Fever at Penn's Peak; May 16, trip to Hollywood Casino in Hershey; June 7, trip to Knoebel's Grove for senior day; June 27, anniversary dinner at Capriotti's; Aug. 22, picnic at St. Peter's Grove, catered by Hess Catering.The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at the Ryan Township Fire Company in Barnesville. The next meeting will be held April 25.Anyone 55 or older is welcome to join.Soup socialThe next monthly community soup social at Trinity United Church of Christ will be held on Saturday, May 6.
