Board appoints new officers

The Carbon County Interagency and Family Collaborative Board has a new slate of officers.

During the group's meeting on Wednesday, the board voted on its officers for 2017-18.The new co-chairwoman is Natalie Bojko. She shares the position with Commissioner Wayne Nothstein.Keri Byrne assumed the role of vice chairwoman. Jill Geissinger was named secretary and Shelba Scheffner was named treasurer.The Carbon County Interagency and Family Collaborative Board was formed in 2014 after two organizations - The Carbon County Child and Family Collaborative and The Interagency Council of Carbon County - merged in the hopes of creating a larger network to help children, families and senior citizens in the county.The group consists of numerous agencies and organizations that range from schools to senior centers.It meets every other month at 9 a.m. at the Carbon County Emergency Management Agency in Nesquehoning.The next meeting of the group will be held on March 8.
