Tamaqua incident leads to arrest

A reported domestic incident in Tamaqua led to a former resident being arrested, then transferred into the custody of the Berks County Sheriff's Department.

Police were dispatched to 409 W. Broad St., at 6:25 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, for a possible domestic incident. The report noted that two males were allegedly arguing loudly.At the scene officers were able to gain access to the apartment of Candace Bylinski, where they found George Cope, 25, of 461 S. Wyomissing Ave., Shillington. A silver Buick Century parked outside, displaying a temporary tag, was linked to Cope. The vehicle, according to an NCIC records check, was reportedly stolen in Berks County.Cope was taken to the police station where he waited for Berks County officials to take him into custody, which they did at 11:15 p.m.
