Jim Thorpe police said they have charged Dirk A. Pompa, 24, of 91 Broadway, Jim Thorpe, with seven misdemeanor one counts of forgery, and one misdemeanor one count of receiving stolen property.

Police said they were contacted by Pompa's aunt, Jean O'Donnell, who informed them that he had been taking checks from her home, forging her and her mother's name, and having them cashed by various people without their consent.The alleged offenses occurred between Oct. 2, and Nov. 6, 2012.
