Vehicle reported stolen in Summit Hill

Summit Hill Chief of Police Joseph Fittos Jr. said a car was reportedly stolen from a garage in the borough.

Two rifles reportedly were in the car.The theft occurred at about 4:15 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle is a 2011 Chevy Silverado.Fittos said the owner had the garage unlocked and the key was in the car.According to Fittos, the car might possibly have been involved in a hit-and-run accident after being taken.He said a tree at Pine and Amidon Street (Route 902) that was planted by the Summit Hill Historical Society was knocked over. A grill belonging to a Silverado was found at the scene.Anyone with information on the vehicle should call the Carbon County Telecommunications Center.
