A Lansford woman has been charged with sex offenses after she exchanged sex with a 13-year-old boy for marijuana.
Ariel S. Stevens, 19, of 233 W. Patterson St., faces charges of statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with minor, two counts of corruption of minors, and indecent assault stemming from an incident on March 22.She's free on $10,000 unsecured bail, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Aug. 17 before District Judge Casimir T. Kosciolek of Lansford, according to the most recent online court records.According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Lansford police officer Shawn M. Nunemacher, he received a call from the Carbon County Children & Youth Services Agency on March 22 about the sexual exploitation of a child.The boy told police he had sex with Stevens for marijuana "many times."Stevens "gave him pills and doped him up to have sex with her," according to the court document.The boy's mother told police her son had told her about the incidents.Stevens admitted to police that she had been "in a romantic relationship" with the child, and that they had "kissed and made out" and she gave him marijuana.
