Beams close Rt. 209 in Franklin

All four lanes of SR209 along with Harrity Road were closed for hours last night and early this morning when work crews attempted to deliver three large concrete beams to a work site in Franklin Township. The beams are being used to construct a new bridge which will carry Harrity Road over Pohopoco Creek. Southbound traffic along SR209 was unable to enter the turnpike. Harrity Road is widely used as a main corridor to the Pocono Mountains and Beltzville State Park.
