Police say a 12-year-old girl was the culprit behind a bomb scare at Lehighton Middle School on Dec. 15.
Charges were filed with the juvenile court office on Dec. 23, according to the Lehighton Police Department.The list of charges include terroristic threats and institutional vandalism.For her actions, the student received 10 days of out of school suspension for the incident.Meanwhile, a bomb scare that took place on Dec. 21 at Lehighton Area High School remains under investigation.At that time, borough police were called to the high school as students and staff were evacuated to the middle school.A search of the school, which was done with the assistance of two K-9 dogs handled by state police, revealed no bomb in the building.
