Four new dugouts were donated recently to the Tamaqua Area School District's soccer and softball complexes located behind the Middle School.

Constructed of wood, cinderblock and metal, each dugout cost approximately $4,500.The two softball field dugouts, including construction costs, were donated by M & T Bank and Rottet Motors of Tamaqua. Members of both the girls and boys Tamaqua Soccer Booster associations donated two new dugouts and construction costs for the district's soccer field.The soccer booster clubs had donated the press box a few years ago.Construction for all four dugouts was done at-cost by Curtis J. Bailey Inc., who also donated and constructed the district's baseball field dugouts in 2008.School board president Larry Wittig, and athletic director Mike Hromyak thanked all the contributors and volunteers who stepped up to make the projects happen.
