A driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an accident that occurred about 4 p.m. on Monday, May 6, along SR534 in Banks Township, Carbon County.

State police at Lehighton said Timothy J. Darragh, 54, of Albrightsville, was driving a Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra westbound and crossed the center line and sideswiped a 2011 Dodge Journey driven by Joan Carpenter-Bensinger, 47, of Albrightsville, who was eastbound.After impact Darragh fled the scene but was later located at a service station along SR903. He was found to be under the influence of medication, troopers said, and taken into custody. Charges are pending.No injuries were reported in the incident.
