The Weatherly Area High School Alumni Association board of directors met June 15 in the Weatherly Area Community Library.
The 11 members in attendance each received a frame to celebrate the association's 25th anniversary year.Association President Todd Gimbi welcomed guest speaker Tom Connors, mayor of Weatherly.During the meeting, it was noted that:• The finance committee met with investment representatives and has invested $80,000 with Cole Capital.• Jane Suitch and Yvonne Felker were re-elected to the board of directors at the Memorial Day dinner. A total of 63 dinners were served and a profit of $135.30 was realized.• There were 15 applications for this year's scholarship. Brenna Coxe was selected and was awarded the $15,000 WAHSAA Scholarship Award.• Reservation forms for the 25th anniversary dinner will be mailed out with the July newsletter.• A moment of silence was held in remembrance of James Fadden and Patricia (Cowell) Eroh.• Election of officers was held. The officers are: Gimbi, president; Stephen Thompson, vice president; Felker, recording secretary; Sue Ann Gerhard, treasurer; Gimbi, membership secretary; and Sarah Hamm, corresponding/publicity secretary. Betty Henry retired from the office of vice president, but will continue to serve on the board of directors.• Felker will be working on a schedule of volunteers to man the table at the Weatherly Festival Aug. 25-26.• The next board of directors meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 19 in the Weatherly Middle School LGI room.
