The Friends of Kibler School will hold its annual summer program featuring members of the community discussing topics of interest.
The program, "Three Thursdays in July," will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Kibler One-Room School Museum, at 6495 Pohopoco Drive in Towamensing Township.This Thursday's speaker will be Mike Meining, who will discuss the Valor House, which is considered a sanctuary providing services to veterans in need of assistance.Meining, a veteran, has been associated with the Valor House program from its inception.On July 20, the speaker will be Carbon County Sheriff Tony Harvilla, who will talk about the work of the sheriff's department.Carol O'Brien will make a return appearance on July 27, and will speak about the valuation of collectibles and antiques.The programs are followed by refreshments under the trees. The three programs are free.
