A GoFundMe.com website has been set up for a Franklin Township family who lost their home to a fire over New Year's weekend.

The fundraising page has been set up for Lora Green and her family who lost their home to a devastating fire Saturday afternoon.Contacted this morning, township fire Chief Lynn Diehl said firefighters were dispatched around 2:45 p.m. to a dwelling fire at 511 Vine St.Upon arrival, Diehl said there was heavy involvement, adding that the fire is believed to have originated somewhere in the kitchen area of the home.In all, Diehl said six people were displaced by the fire, though none of them suffered injuries. However, two dogs were lost due to the fire, he said.The cause of the fire is unknown, said Diehl, who added firefighters were on scene for over an hour.Also assisting at the scene were the Mahoning Valley, Parryville, Bowmanstown, Aquashicola and Lehighton fire departments, he said.Diehl said the Red Cross was contacted and came out to assist with clothing, as the family had a place to stay."Everybody worked well together," Diehl said.
