A Monroe County man was sentenced to a county prison term on Friday in Carbon County court after pleading guilty to a charge of fleeing or attempting to elude police.

Kendal Andrew Librizzi, 21, of Tannersville, and formerly of Long Pond, entered his plea before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.Librizzi was arrested on Feb. 23, 2016, along Johnson Lane in Towamensing Township by state police at Lehighton. Troopers attempted to stop Librizzi, who was operating a pickup, for speeding.He failed to stop and led officers on a chase with speeds going over 90 miles-per-hour troopers said. The chase went on various roads before Librizzi finally stopped.He was originally charged with 11 counts, 10 of them motor vehicle code summary offenses.Nanovic sentenced him to serve three months to one day less 24 months in prison and ordered to pay a fine of $500, get a drug and alcohol evaluation, with zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use.He must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole.He was given credit for 16 days already spent in prison on the charge.After he finishes his term he will be returned to the Monroe County prison where he is facing other criminal charges.
