A Carbon County resident is facing charges of escape and fleeing to avoid apprehension.

State police at Lehighton said Ryan Matthew Rehrig, 33, of Palmerton, was stopped on Monday, Aug. 5, along SR248 eastbound at the Palmerton exit. He was then informed that he had a warrant issued for his arrest. After exiting his vehicle, Rehrig re-entered the vehicle and drove about 50 feet before exiting the vehicle a second time and fleeing into nearby woods and across the Lehigh River.A search of the area was made but Rehrig was not found. On Wednesday, Aug. 6, about 9:45 a.m. Rehrig was found at his residence and taken into custody, troopers said.
