Ten first-time defendants in pending criminal cases were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Thursday by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they will face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Margaret Sailo Bridy, 24, of Saylorsburg, was placed on a charge of driving under the influence. She was arrested on March 25 along Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East by Lehighton police. A test showed 0.23 BAC.She was assessed $550 for the cost of the program and her license was suspended for 60 days.Rhonda Celoso,63, of Lehighton, was placed on a charge of unsworn falsification to authorities. She was arrested on April 13 by Lehighton police for an incident at the Lehighton hospital. She reported she had been raped, but an investigation by police revealed no such incident ever occurred.She was assessed $450 and ordered to get a mental health evaluation and follow all recommendations for treatment.Joseph Patrick Freach, 54, of Tobyhanna, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on March 13 along Route 903 near Maury Road in Penn Forest Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed 0.10 BAC.He was assessed $500 and his license was suspended for 30 days.John Albert Malachefski, 38, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on March 13 along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed 0.09 BAC.He was assessed $450.John Victor Manzella, 34, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a charge of simple assault. He was arrested on Jan. 3 by Jim Thorpe police for an incident in the area of West Sixth Street with Bryan Sibbach the listed victim.He was assessed $650 and ordered to get both a drug and alcohol and mental health evaluations.Angela Marie Strohl,22, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on March 27 by state police at Fern Ridge along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township. A test showed 0.09 BAC.She was assessed $450.Jennifer Bealla,35, of Palmerton, was placed for six months on a charge of obstructing the administration of law. She was arrested on March 18 by Palmerton police for interfering in the arrest of Nicholas Carullo, who was wanted on a warrant.She was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation.Dylan Murphy,23, of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Jan. 30 by state police at Lehighton along Route 209 at the turnpike entrance in Franklin Township. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 and license suspended for 60 days.John Patrick Quinn, 19, of Bayside, New York, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on Sept. 5, 2015, along Delaware Avenue in Palmerton by state police at Lehighton following a traffic stop.He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation.Cheyanne Marie Strohl, 22, of Palmerton, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on April 17 along Delaware Avenue at State Road by Palmerton police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.She was assessed $600 and her license was suspended for 60 days.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and $50 per month supervision fee. Those charged with DUI must follow all recommendations of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
