A Carbon County woman admitted her part in the attempted theft of a motor vehicle. She was one of four defendants in pending cases to enter a guilty plea in the county court on Tuesday morning before Judge Steven R. Serfass.

Towamensing incidentKendra Lynn Crostley, 24, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of theft for an incident in Towamensing Township on Aug. 28, 2016.Rangers at Beltzville State Park came upon people attempting to enter a parked 2013 Chevrolet truck. Crostley was one of the people.Crostley is currently an inmate in the county prison.Serfass accepted the plea and sentenced her to time served (39 days) to one day less 24 months in prison and ordered she make restitution of $405 and render 100 hours of community service.Found in basementDavid Charles Leslie, 58, of Nesquehoning, pleaded to one count each of defiant trespass and harassment, as a summary offense.On Oct. 16, 2016, Palmerton police were dispatched to the 100 block of Franklin Avenue to a report of an unwanted person. On scene officers found Leslie outside a basement door at that residence. The victim, his former girlfriend, said she had heard a noise and found Leslie in the basement area, then called police.Leslie told Serfass that he had a one-time relationship with the victim and said he often spent the night at the residence, using the basement area to sleep.Serfass sentenced Leslie to serve 18 days (the time he spent in prison until making bail) to 12 months in prison and paroled him. Leslie was also ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and render 50 hours of community service. On the harassment count he was fined $300.Other pleasKimberly Anne Parsons, 36, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of persistent disorderly conduct. A charge of simple assault was dropped in a plea bargain.Parsons was arrested on June 21, 2016, in the area of 135 W. Ridge St., by Lansford police. She arrived at the location in a vehicle with another male and got into a confrontation with the victim. She admitted strikingthe victim in the incident.Serfass placed her on probation for a year and ordered her to render 50 hours of community service and have no contact with the victim.Edwina Brett Grow, 40, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of harassment, as a summary offense, with a charge of simple assault dropped in a plea agreement.She was charged by Palmerton police for an incident on Aug. 12, 2014, at 641 Lehigh Ave., where she admitted assaulting her husband, Donald Grow. She was previously placed in the county's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program but was revoked from it for violating conditions.Serfass imposed a fine of $300.Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation.
