State police at Lehighton reported that a crash occurred when Britny Krisanda, 20, of Milford, was traveling eastbound in the Cindy Lane area of Ross Township, Monroe County.

She was reportedly under the influence and was being distracted by her passenger, Ryan Sawyer, 23, of Saylorsburg. She drove off the roadway near the end of the cul-de-sac and then traveled approximately 15 feet into the wood line. Her vehicle struck a tree causing disabling damage to the vehicle. The car came to rest facing eastbound approximately 15 feet off the east berm of the roadway.Krisanda was charged with driving under the influence (DUI). Neither the driver or passenger were injured.
