A woman was injured Tuesday afternoon in a one-car crash on Route 309 in Tamaqua near Tuscarora Park Road. The car went off Route 309, up an embankment and struck a tree, coming to rest on its roof.

Two people were inside the car. The other person, a man, appeared uninjured.The incident happened at about 2:20 p.m. Passers-by stopped and assisted until emergency personnel arrived.One man used a lug wrench to break a rear window and help the man inside get out of the vehicle. The woman was confined to the car.Tamaqua Fire Department assisted the Tamaqua and Rush Township Police Departments.
