A deer and a car collided in a crash along a Schuylkill County road.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Morgan E. Strausser, 18, of Cressona, was driving a 2005 Ford Focus eastbound on SR443 in North Manheim Township, about 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, when a deer entered the road in front of him.Strausser applied the brakes an swerved to avoid the animal but could not, and struck it. Strausser sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel. The car had to be towed from the scene.
