State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a hit and run crash that occurred about 10:36 a.m. on Oct. 7 along Route 901, just north of Main St., in Cressona.
Troopers said Christine Kushlick, of Gordon, was driving a red in color Chrysler 300 eastbound and in front of a Peterbilt tri-axle dump truck operated by Eric Leiby of New Ringgold. Kushlick stopped for a red traffic light when her car was rear-ended by the truck, troopers said. After impact Kushlick pulled off the road into a parking lot while Leiby continued east on 901 and made a left turn onto Route 183. Troopers noted it was raining at the time and the road wet.Troopers said Leiby subsequently discovered light damage to the front bumper of his truck when his shift ended. A worker told Leiby that the police were looking for a dump truck that rear-ended a car. Leiby discovered a trace of red paint on bumper of the truck and reported the incident to his boss. His boss then called troopers and provided the information as required under the vehicle code for duty to give information and render aid.Damages were minor to the Chrysler and no injuries were reported. Troopers did not indicate if Leiby was cited.
