Lehighton Borough has several vacancies it hopes to fill.

There is an opening on the Water Authority Board. This position has a $200 a month stipend. Candidates must be a resident of the borough to sit on this board, which meets on the first Wednesday after the first Monday of each month in borough hall.The Lehigh Canal Commission also has a vacancy. This is a volunteer position with no compensation. They meet once a month on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Weissport pavilion. Candidates must be a borough resident for this position.The Lehighton Parks & Recreation Commission has two vacancies. These are volunteer positions with no compensation. The commission is responsible for organizing different events throughout the year and to raise money for the annual fireworks display.They meet the first Monday of each month in Borough Hall. Candidates do not need to be a borough resident for these positions.Letters of interest will be accepted until Aug. 18 in the borough secretary's office.
