Rush police cite trucker for drugs

A New Jersey truck driver was arrested by Rush Township police on Monday and arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer of Tamaqua on drug-related charges.

Police were conducting a Systematic Commercial Vehicle Safety Inspection when a rig operated by James P. Felmey Jr., 50, of Swedesboro, N.J., was waved into the inspection area. During the inspection process officers discovered a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the cab of the tractor trailer.Bail was set at $10,000. Felmey was able to post the required 10 percent and was released.
