State police at Frackville are investigating a burglary in the Schuylkill County borough of New Philadelphia.

Troopers said Mary McDonald, of James Street, was awakened about 1:25 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, by someone in her home. The criminal gained entry through an unlocked kitchen window.The criminal took possession of McDonald's purse and fled the scene. McDonald was not injured in the incident.
