A Monroe County driver escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 3:16 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, along State Road in Chestnuthill Township.
State police at Fern Ridge said Richard Aulestia, 25, of Blakeslee, was driving a 2001 Volkswagen Beetle eastbound and failed to negotiate a left curve in the road. The car went onto the south shoulder where it struck an unknown object and was deflected back onto the road.The car then began to roll over and slid eastbound down a hill and came to rest on its passenger side on the north shoulder facing east.Damages were termed moderate to the vehicle, which had to be towed from the scene. Troopers cited Aulestia for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.
