A Schuylkill County driver has been charged in Carbon County for operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock system.

Jim Thorpe police said about 11:05 a.m. on Sept. 1 they stopped William J. Bowman, 25, of 35 Heckman St., Quakake, along Lentz Trail for speeding.A records check revealed Bowman was required to have an ignition interlock system on his vehicle because of a driving under the influence conviction.He was charged with a misdemeanor count of illegally operating a motor vehicle not equipped with an ignition interlock system and a summary speeding offense.
