A Northampton County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a vehicle stop in Tamaqua.
State police at Frackville said about 10 p.m. on Nov. 16 the Schuylkill County Communications Center broadcast an alert of a erratic driver approaching Tamaqua northbound on SR309, with a description of the vehicle provided.Troopers observed the vehicle along Pine St. (SR309) in the borough and made a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Michael H. Ortoski, 54, of Bangor. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. Charges will be filed, troopers said.Troopers were assisted at the scene by Tamaqua and Rush Township police.
