A home invasion report in Monroe County turned out to be a hoax.

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on Wednesday, Dec. 4, about 8:17 p.m. they were dispatched to 251 Greenbriar Circle, in Coolbaugh Township, for a report of a home invasion in which the suspect shot a female inside the home. The complainant told dispatchers that the suspect was still in the house hiding in a bedroom.Officers then arrived on scene and continued to obtain more information about the incident. The officers were able to determine that the call was being placed through a computer from an out-of-state location. Police were able to get the attention of the individuals inside the home and make contact with them.Everything was found to be in order and the entire incident a hoax, police said.
