A Tamaqua woman has been cited in connection with an incident at the H&R Block office at 395 E. Broad St. on Nov. 22.

According to police, two women entered the tax preparation office at 10:43 a.m. One of the women was working with a tax preparer, while Monica Brown, 24, of 102 Market St., sat waiting.At one point the employee went into another room. When she returned to her office Brown was crouched over the employee's handbag. She had a wallet opened and cash in her hand. The employee grabbed the cash and wallet from Brown, who said she was sorry and then left the office.Brown was charged with attempted theft.
