Two area drivers were involved in separate crashes on Lehigh County roadways.
Upper Macungie Township police reported investigating a rear-end type crash that occurred about 8:18 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, at the intersection of SR100 and Tilghman Street. Police said Jason Baker, 34, of Lehighton, driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am, was southbound on the snow and slush packed road and stopped in the left turn lane for a red traffic signal. His vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe driven southbound by Karen Bailey, 20, of New Tripoli.No one was injured. The Pontiac sustained moderate damages and the Tahoe minor.The second crash occurred about 12:43 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, along Hilltop Road, just east of Haasadah Road. Police said Tammy Fatzinger, 42, of Quakake, was driving at 2002 Dodge Durango westbound and downhill on the snow-covered road when she failed to negotiate a curve to the left. The Durango went off the right side of the road and struck a tree before rolling onto its right side.Fatzinger was not injured. Damages to the Durango were severe to the front bumper and hood area.
