A Luzerne County driver was cited for driving under the influence after being involved in a one-vehicle crash in Monroe County.

Pocono Mountain Regional police responded to a reported accident about 7 a.m. on Jan. 23 along Route 423 at Thomas Road in Coolbaugh Township. On scene the officers found a vehicle that had slid off the road and landed in the woods.The driver was found behind the wheel passed out. He was identified as Luis Valenzuela, 41, of Hazleton. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests.He was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, where he submitted to a blood test. The results revealed a .24BAC, three times the legal limit.In addition to the DUI charge, Valenzuela was also charged with motor vehicle code violations, police added.
