A Carbon County man is facing several charges following an incident on March 1.
Nesquehoning police reported about 4:12 p.m. they received a request from Lansford police to assist them in serving a warrant at 2147 Market St., Apt. 2.The warrant was for Joseph Becker. Lansford police had information that Becker was staying at the apartment of Robert C. Saville, 38.Police arrived on scene and Becker was found at the apartment and arrested without incident.While taking Becker into custody various packets of white powdery substances were found in the apartment, along with clear hypodermic needles.Saville was later interviewed, and after receiving his rights, admitted to driving to Coaldale to pick up Becker. He was informed that Becker probably had a warrant out for his arrest. He said he permitted Becker to stay with him at his apartment.Saville was asked about the items found in the apartment and he indicated the items contained and were used to prepare heroin.A test of the substances proved positive for heroin.Saville was charged with two counts of hindering apprehension or prosecution, and one count each of possession of a controlled substance-heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
