Crashes probed
State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers.
A two-vehicle, rear-end crash, was reported at 7:05 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, at the intersection of Route 209 and Lake Mineola Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.Troopers said Susan K. Bonser, 45, of Kunkletown, operating a 2010 Ford Escape, was stopped in the northbound lane of 209 with her left turn signal on waiting to make a left turn onto Lake Mineola Road. Pamela R. Saldibar, 37, of Kunkletown, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, was northbound and failed to stop and her car struck the rear of the Escape.No one was injured. Troopers cited Saldibar for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.Another two-vehicle crash was reported on Friday, about 12:27 p.m., at the intersection of Old Stage Road and Nash Trail, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.Troopers said Ryan Wolverton, 23, of Albrightsville, was driving a 2009 Mitsubishi Galant westbound on Old Stage Road and approaching the intersection while Adedolapo T. Nichels, 35, also of Albrightsville, was stopped at a stop sign on Nash Trail operating a 2010 Kia Soul.After stopping Nichels proceeded through the stop sign onto Old Stage Road, when the driver side of his Kia was struck by the front end of the Mitsubishi.Both drivers were injured and taken to the Lehighton hospital by Lehighton ambulance. Troopers cited Nickels for stop signs and yield signs.A hit-and-run crash was reported on Friday, about 10:45 p.m., along Merwinsburg Road in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Lisa M. Hargrove, 53, of Effort, was driving a 2007 Hyundai Elantra northbound when her vehicle was sideswiped by a southbound vehicle. The driver's side rear view mirror of the Elantra was struck.After impact the other driver continued northbound.Hargrove was not injured and damages were minor to her vehicle.Troopers investigated a two-vehicle crash at 3:54 p.m. Sunday, March 2, along Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township.Troopers said Joshua J. Pabellon, 22, and Elizabeth A. Danton, 54, both of Effort, were both southbound. Troopers said Pabellon stopped along the west shoulder to make a U-turn when Danton attempted to pass. Pabellon turned into the path of Danton. The front of Danton's 2009 Hyundai Sonata struck the front driver's side door of Pabellon's 2013 Kia Sorento.Pabellon, Danton, and her passenger, Morgan E. Danton, 20, of Effort, were all not injured. Damages were disabling to both vehicles.Troopers cited Pabellon for limitations on turning around.
