Four Slatington residents stepped forward Tuesday night during the Northern Lehigh Swimming Pool Association meeting to join the board, dousing suspicions that the community pool might close.

Jessica Mack, Linda Sayer, Katherine Barhight and Robert Berger joined the board.

Vice president Lori Vernon moved up to the presidency position due to the resignation of Tess McGowen. Dan Bixler was named treasurer, Mack will fill the vice president position vacated by Vernon’s promotion and Sayer will serve as secretary. Don Lerch resigned that post earlier this year.

The realigned board said it is accepting applications for the positions of pool manager and assistant manager and head lifeguard. Farrell Snyder, pool manager, is set to retire from the management position.
