Here we go again. it’s time for the right-wing to roll out that boogieman, Communism! It’s all we hear. Socialism! It’s the end of America!

Well, that old chant is getting boring. FDR started programs to help Americans being crushed by the economy: they cried Communism!

Social Security is created: they cried Socialism! Medicare started in 1965: they called it Communism! Yet, after all these years, and tens of millions of Americans being helped by these programs, we are still here. In fact, there are more multimillionaires and billionaires than ever before!

Kind of sounds like the GOP doesn’t like to see people given any help. A hand-up is not a handout. It’s an investment in our people.

We have Republicans in our PA legislature who have also voted against us people. People like Rep Jack Rader, who is running for his 7th term!

He’s a real friendly guy, but his votes are far from friendly. He even voted no on providing grants to our volunteer firefighters! No to lead testing for babies! No to training school sports coaches to learn how to identify Traumatic Brain Injuries!

If you like him, take him out to lunch. But let’s get him out of our State Legislature.

These are just a few of his negative votes this year, alone. Let’s vote for a new voice.
