October 15, 2004 — Jim Thorpe’s defense completely shuts down Pocono Mountain West in earning a 34-0 victory. The “Red Swarm” hold their opponent to just 42 total yards in 38 offensive plays and also force two turnovers. The Olympians, coached by Mark Rosenberger, lead only 6-0 at halftime on a Dan Flizack 12-yard touchdown pass to Aaron Smith, but tally four times in the second half to pull away. Jason Figura, who finishes with 17 carries for 120 yards, reaches the end zone on a 10-yard run to extend the advantage while Justin Young, Tyler O’Shura and Michael Bigaman add TDs in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.
