October 10, 1964 — Panther Valley scores a first-quarter touchdown and its defense stops a number of scoring threats to earn a 7-6 victory over Shenandoah. Midway through the first, the Panthers travel 64 yards for their only tally. Mike Skodacek starts the drive with a 14-yard gain, and a 27-yard pass from Charlie Williams to John Yankovich follows. Four plays later, Yankovich plows into the end zone from a yard out. Skodacek adds the extra point, which proves to be vital. Shenandoah marches inside the PV 30 on three occasions without scoring, until breaking through in the final frame. But John Mikulsky, John Molotzak and Billy Maynard combine to stop the run attempt on the extra point.
