October 9, 1993 — Jim Thorpe gains over 400 yards of offense to help earn a 39-22 victory over Northwest Area. The Olympians, coached by Adam Sieminski, actually trail at halftime but score three times in the third quarter to take the lead for good. Mike Gruber puts Thorpe ahead with a 2-yard touchdown run and a 45-yard scoring strike from Eric Schrantz to Brad Sibbach extends the advantage. Mike Davis adds to the margin with a 29-yard TD run. Gary Storer finishes with 129 of JT’s 275 rushing yards, while Schrantz completes 10-of-13 passes for 129 yards and two short touchdown runs.
